High    Low

High/Low is a simple trajectory control drill that will have you alternating between your lowest lofted wedge (PW) and your highest lofted wedge.  The purpose of the drill is to help you gain a better understanding of the difference between how each club performs from two basic positions.  The challenging part of the drill is that you will not hit the same club or the same shot twice in a row.  You will need to set up the following areas:

  • Create a target area around a hole with a 6 foot radius
  • Create a station to chip from at least 3 paces from the edge of the green to a target that is at least 10 paces in total
  • Create a station to pitch from at least 5 paces from the edge of the green to a target that is at least 15 paces in total

In order to finish this drill you will need to get 10 consecutive shots into the target area, alternating between the chip and pitch shot (you are only to hit one shot from each station before switching to the next.  If any shot does not end up in the target area then you will need to restart the drill from the beginning.

You can add challenge to the drill by shrinking the radius of the target area, cutting it in half such that the ball must pass the hole to count, or cut it in half such that the ball must end up on one side of the hole or the other.
